About website

Find older documentries and ebooks. It’s also lists page which has actors, actresses, directors. (Flooding the server with consecutive manual updates isn’t advised.) If you would like to use an experimental or CVS version you do it at your own risk.
Not shutting your customer properly or restarting your computer without leaving your customer properly. I.e. via the client app menu.

I Love Classics Rules:

If a torrent you are currently leeching/seeding isn’t listed on your profile, just wait or force a manual update.
Be sure you exit your client properly, so that the tracker receives “event=completed”.
If the tracker is down, don’t stop seeding. Provided that the tracker is back up before you exit the client the stats should update properly.
An perfect ratio on each torrent is 1 to 1.5. The exception to this is when nobody else replies a re-seed petition, then, by all means start the torrent up again.

Can I use any bittorrent client? The tracker updates the stats correctly for most bittorrent clients, but some customers are banned due to their bad practices, or their erroneous tracker upgrades. But, we still recommend that you utilize one of these customers:

UTorrent (ancient versions, most beta versions, uT 3.01 and 3.1 are prohibited)
UTorrent Mac
Bittorrent (mainline)
kTorrent (Steam)

These customers report properly to the tracker when canceling/finishing a torrent session.

Customers in alpha or beta version should be avoided.

Why is a torrent I’m leeching/seeding recorded many times in my profile?

If for some reason (e.g. computer crash, or frozen client) your client exits improperly and you restart it, it is going to have a new peer_id, so it is going to show as a new torrent.

Some clients, notably TorrentStorm and Nova Torrent, don’t report correctly to the tracker when canceling or finishing a torrent.

When a torrent is first started, the tracker uses the IP to identify the user. Therefore the torrent will become associated with the user who last accessed the website from that IP. If you share your IP in some way (you’re behind NAT/ICS, or using a proxy), and a few of the men you share it with are also users, you may occasionally see their torrents listed in your profile. (If they start a torrent session from that IP and you’re the last one to go to the site the torrent will be associated with you). Note that now torrents listed in your profile will always count towards your total stats.

Multiple IPs (Can I login from different computers?)

Yes, the tracker is now capable of following sessions from different IPs for the same user. A torrent is associated with the user when it starts, and just at the moment is the IP relevant. So in the event you would like to seed/leech from computer A and computer B with the same account you should access the site from computer A, start the torrent there, and then repeat both steps from computer B (not limited to two computers or to a single torrent on each, this is just the simplest example). You don’t have to login again when closing the torrent.
The tracker won’t permit anybody to leech from more than 1 IP address to protect against account hijacking (and cheating). If you’re on a dynamic IP, you might experience this warning. Log into the website and wait around 40 minutes to the tracker to permit your download again.
Multiple accounts per user aren’t allowed.

How can NAT/ICS alter the picture?

This is a very special case in that all computers in the LAN will appear to the outside world as having the same IP. We have to distinguish between two cases:

1. You’re the single I Love Classics user in the LAN

You should use the same I Love Classics accounts on all of the computers.

Note also that in the ICS case it is preferable to run the BT client on the ICS gateway. Clients running on the other computers will be unconnectable (their ports will be recorded as “–“, as explained elsewhere in the FAQ) unless you specify the appropriate services in your ICS configuration (a good explanation of the way to do this for Windows XP are available here). In the NAT case you should configure different ranges for clients on different computers and create appropriate NAT rules in the router. (Details vary widely from router to router and are outside the scope of this FAQ. Check your router documentation or support forum.)

2. There are multiple I Love Classics users in the LAN

At present there’s no means of making this setup always work properly with I Love Classics. Each torrent will be associated with the user who last accessed the site from within the LAN before the torrent was started. Unless there is cooperation between the users mixing of statistics is possible. (User A accesses the site, downloads a . Torrent file, but doesn’t start the torrent immediately. Meanwhile, user B accesses the website. User A then starts the torrent. The torrent will count towards user B’s statistics, not user A’s.)

It is your LAN, the responsibility is yours. Don’t ask us to ban other users with the exact same IP, we won’t do that. (Why should we ban him rather than you?).
